How do I get to The Whitsundays?

There are two airports in the region, offering flights from most capital cities.

  • Hamilton Island Airport (HTI) has direct flights from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Once you’ve landed, there is a direct boat transfer to Daydream Island or The Port of Airlie.
  • Proserpine Airport (PPP) is a 40km drive from the Port of Airlie where you can get a 30-minute boat transfer direct to Daydream Island.
What accommodation options are available?

We have 2 package options available, Island Packages will have you staying at  Daydream Island Resort and Yacht Packages will have you staying onboard one of two sailing yachts.

How do I get around the Island?

Daydream Island is small, only 1km from north to south so you can stroll the whole island in 15 minutes.

Can I bring my own food and drinks to the island?

Guests are not permitted to bring their own food or beverages onto Daydream Island, including alcohol.  If you purchased a Yacht Package you can bring your own drinks onboard the yacht but you must not take them to shore.

How do I get from the airport to my accommodation?
  • Island Packages – A ferry transfer is included from both Hamilton Island and Proserpine Airports to Daydream Island.
  • Yacht Packages – you will need to make your own way to/from the airport to the the Coral Sea Marina in Airlie Beach. There is the option for ferry transfers from Hamilton Island or shuttle/taxi from Prosperine Airport.
What activities are available?

Both package options will have a range of activities for you to enjoy free of charge, such as swimming, snorkeling and stand up paddle boarding. There will be a range of additional activities on offer which can be pre-booked and pre-paid at a later stage. These include scenic flights, reef tours, jet ski rentals and more.

What dining options are available on Daydream Island?

Daydream Island boasts three signature restaurants, Infinity is an innovative Asian fusion restaurant, Graze is a classic buffet with a diverse range of cuisine and Inkstone Kitchen and Bar focuses on modern Australian cuisine. With three new bars on the Island there are plenty of options to keep you well fed and hydrated.

Do I need to wear a stinger suit?

There are two types of ‘stingers’ in the area: the Irukandji Jellyfish and the Box Jellyfish. These are present year-round, but there is a higher risk between October and May. It is therefore recommended to wear a protective stinger suit.

  • Island packages include 4 nights accommodation at Daydream Island Resort, daily buffet breakfast, return ferry transfers from the Port of Airlie or Hamilton Island Marina and 3 days festival access at our 3 stunning locations.
Where can I purchase a package?

Packages will be available online from Tuesday 6th April until sold out.

Can I amend the packages to suit my needs?

The packages have been set as 4nights/3 days and can not be amended. If you would like add additional nights at Daydream Island Resort we can assist with booking once you receive your confirmation.

What payment methods are accepted?

All major credit/debit cards will be accepted for initial deposit. Final balance can be paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

Can I book a package for someone else?

Yes, we encourage you to book as a group to ensure we can accommodate you close to each other.

Can I stay in the same cabin as my friend?

To guarantee your booking in the same cabin on New Horizon, you will need to book your packages in the one transaction.

When will I receive my confirmation and itinerary?

Your confirmation will be sent as soon as you make the booking. The itinerary and additional activities will be sent in the following weeks.

Are meals included in the packages?
  • Yacht packages include all meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. You will be required to bring your own drinks which can be chilled onboard and ice will be provided.
  • Island packages include daily buffet breakfast only. Lunch and dinner can be purchased from one of three restaurants on the island.

How much deposit do I need to pay?

The initial deposit is $400pp (plus ticketing fee) with the balance due on 6th August, 2021 through our travel partner Liquid Snow Tours. Please note final balance is not an automatic charge, you will need to pay manually.

Are the packages refundable?

The packages are not refundable for change of mind, injury, illness, breakups, or change in circumstance preventing you from travelling. Except in the case the event is cancelled due to government restrictions on events or travel due to COVID-19, you will be entitled to a full refund. Refunds will only be available to people within Australia.

Can I book a twin room for one person?

Not unless you want to pay twice the price. We have allocated a few single packages on Daydream Island and there are single bunks available on New Horizon sailing yacht.

Can I transfer the package to someone else's name?

Yes, if you can no longer attend you are welcome to transfer your package to someone else. Any deposits made will be transferred to the new person so you will have to sort finances yourselves. You will need to advise the Dream Machine team in writing and change the name on the ticket. If you have purchased a twin/triple/quad package you will need to transfer the whole package. There is no official resale facility.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel Insurance is recommended to cover you for cancellation costs incase of illness, injury or other reasons preventing you from travelling.

No, you are not permitted to bring alcohol to any Dream Machine events, bag checks will be carried out upon entry.

Will there be first aid onsite?

Yes, there will be first aid on hand at all events.

When will set times be released?

The timetable will be released in the week leading up to the event.

Will I get a wristband for entry?

Yes, you will be provided with a wristband for identification when you arrive at your accommodation.

Will there be food and drink to purchase?

Yes, there will be food and drinks available to purchase at all Dream Machine events.

Can I pay with credit card at the events?

What if I lose my ticket/wristband?
